Innova CFI opens its call for applications for startups from all provinces
Applications are now open for Innova CFI, the innovation investment fund of Argentina's provinces. This initiative aims to boost technological development across Argentina's provinces by funding startups that address productive and technological challenges in their regions.
Project submissions will be accepted from May 18 through June 26. During this period, early-stage science and technology-based companies at Pre-seed and Seed stages are eligible to apply. The goal is to turn locally generated knowledge into solutions applicable at both regional and global levels, driving economic growth across Argentina's provinces.
Funding is provided through a contingent debt scheme — a flexible model in which repayment begins only once the project achieves commercial success. Repayment installments are proportional to the company's revenue, and the instrument is convertible, allowing the loan to be converted into equity without intervening in the company's management.
To be eligible, companies must be no more than seven years old and meet a minimum technology readiness level. The call is agnostic across all technology verticals, welcoming projects in biotechnology, the knowledge economy, and other strategic areas, provided that research activities are carried out in Argentina.
